Shefaly’s experience is varied and broad. Early in her career, she worked in corporate venturing in the information technology industry, where she created several new businesses of regional, country and global scope. Since 2000, she has advised technology investors and technology start-ups on strategic issues. She serves on the product advisory board of 8Over8 in Ireland.

Shefaly offers to her clients the full gamut of intelligences required for success in today’s world: deep disciplinary intelligence, superb synthesising skills, left-field creative thinking with cross-sector insights, strong ethics and a respectful approach to group dynamics and organisational situations.

Shefaly has trained at some of the world’s leading academic establishments in India, the USA and the UK. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, an MBA, a Master’s degree in Technology Policy and a PhD in decision-making. She also served as a Cambridge-MIT Institute Research Fellow in MIT’s Technology and Policy Program, located in the Engineering Systems Division. With her kaleidoscopic perspective on strategic issues, she has a unique grasp of the nuances that may be easily missed by the lens of a single discipline or a single culture.

Shefaly specialises in strategic problems of highly regulated and dynamic sectors. She has specialist knowledge in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, communication and media (including social media).

Shefaly’s clients include well-known investment firms, industry players, think-tanks, political bodies, political parties, and academia. She is a well-liked and highly regarded colleague, as well as a much-trusted and preferred consultant.

In her spare time, Shefaly reads extensively, seeks out good food and exercises to keep it all in balance. She is also keenly interested in robots and human-robot interaction, and Asterix. She serves as the trustee of a non-profit foundation that seeks to promote communal harmony through arts and culture.
